My ‘One Lovely Blog Award’ Nominees

images1.jpeg

thank-you-1238361I was just nominated for this award from Shattered in Him.  She has a wonderful, inspiring blog and her recent support has been so encouraging to me.  Thank you so much, Shattered!

Here are seven facts about me!

  • I love watching videos of abandoned old houses;
  • I think dessert that doesn’t have chocolate involved in it somehow is just pretend dessert;
  • I began to teach myself the violin and singing this year (thanks, Youtube!);
  • I am a summer person – completely.  I don’t know what winter is for, what people do with it, and why it exists, and I consider it all none of my business.  Life begins again when there’s sunshine on my face and flip flops on my feet;
  • I’m originally from the West Coast and feel most at “home” when I smell pine trees and the ocean and am surrounded by mountains.  All those things speaks to my soul;
  • I became a Christian 15 years ago when I went to read the New Testament to prove to my self that I didn’t want to be a Christian.  I didn’t get far when I knew deep in my spirit that Jesus was truly the Way, the Truth, and the Life and I’ve never looked back;
  • Pink is my favourite colour but never seem to ever really have any pink clothing.  I think it’s funny that I’m often surprised by this fact but then never do anything to change it.

Here are the blogs I’ve chosen to nominate!

The women behind them have been encouraging to me since my blog began and are very dear to me.

Bless the Black Sheep    Dreams of a Better World    A Blog About Healing from PTSD

Also, thanks to every subscriber to my little blog.  Every new subscriber is noticed, subscribed back to, and so appreciated!

  • Thank the person that nominated you and leave a link to their blog
  • Post about the award

  1. Prairie Girl, congratulations on your award 😀
    I loved reading a bit more about you and your love of the violin. Maybe you will share some of your music with us one day? I learnt classical piano as a child and then fingered chords for the keyboard (I still have my old Technics keyboard). Playing brought a lot of happiness.
    Happy Christmas to you and I wish you to find some pink clothing for yourself 🙂 xox

  2. HOW did I miss seeing this???? I am so sorry. I don’t know why it did not show up in my reader or anything!! The only reason that I found this now is because I was thinking that it had been a long time since you posted, so I came here to leave a comment asking if you are ok and WOW — I saw this!!!

    I would have been here sooner to check on you but I have been depressed all through this month. So sorry. I feel much better now that Christmas is over.

    But, thank you!!! You nominated me and I was too lame to know it for something like three weeks…. but thank you!!!

    I love the things you posted about yourself. Adorable!!!!

    The sun hasn’t even come up yet here, so after I wake up a little more, I will come back here and try to figure out what I am supposed to do now.

    Thank you again!! And I am so sorry!!!!! Excuse me while I go slap myself on the head….

    • Hey, no problem! I was to let you know about it but you didn’t have comments open on your blog at the time for me to do so. Therefore, I let you know by commenting on one of your comments – I guess it got lost in the cracks. When you opened up comments on your blog it didn’t occur to me at that point to repeat it. 😦 So, no matter! Don’t worry about it, and I’m glad you appreciated my nomination! I love your blog and you’ve always been a great support to me.

      I hope you had a good Christmas, or at least the presence of your immediate family lightened your mood a bit for the day.

      • Dear, Precious Prairie Girl: I just want to let you know that I am taking a break from blogging for awhile. On the way to church yesterday, I was praying fervently, asking God to show me His will for this New Year. I asked Him to please either help me finish my book, or else give up the idea entirely, if writing a memoir is not His will for me. Then I felt like the Lord put it on my heart to write every day except Sunday, because now is the time for me to write this book. What came to my mind after that, was how many hours I spend in a day, reading and commenting on blogs.

        So for this reason, I have made my blog private temporarily and unfollowed all of the blogs I was following. This is not a New Year’s resolution, this is just what I felt God put on my heart yesterday. I miss my blogging friends already, and you are chief among them. Thank you for your encouraging words, both in your comments to me, and here on your affirming blog. God bless you in this new year. ❤
